Mark Mentor have jettisoned their earlier plan for a foreign trip as parts of the preparation African Basketball Club Championship slated for Tunisia this month.
The Abuja-based privately owned club will be joining Kano Pillars to represent the country for the male basketball championship which dunks-off on December 12.

The club’s Head Coach Peter Ahmedu who briefed newsmen on the effort made so far by his team to ensure adequate preparation disclosed that are intensifying training ahead of the continental tournament but said that the proposed foreign tour would not take place due to logistics reasons.
“The players and technical crew of the team are doing everything possible to perform well at the championship despite some challenges confronting us.

“The president of the club Mark Ogbeche has always told us to go and conquer, so we are not going there to add to numbers.
“ Yes we know that it will not be an easy task considering the fact that the club is going to be part of the tournament for the very first time but we are definitely going to make our country proud.
“The players are improving by the day during training and they are hungry to get the best. From what I see, there is no cause for alarm,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dolphins and First Bank of Lagos are already in Tunisia where they are taking part in the women’s category of the championship which began on Saturday.
