Al-Makura flags off Scheme 21 years after

Sequel to the plan to establish a robust housing estate, the Nasarawa state Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, yesterday flagged off the Nasarawa state sight and services scheme, 21year after it first attempt in 1997 in order to take care of housing estate for low and the medium  income earners in Karu local government.
At the flag-off ceremony in Karu, Al-Makura explained that the Sight and Services Scheme was aimed at attracting developers with the interest of housing to invest in the state, “as government cannot afford not to develop the Greater Karu master plan due to its proximity to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).”
He added that his administration was committed to ensuring security, sanity and housing to the people to ease the burden of accommodation, especially for those in the corridors of the FCT.

According to him, the policy trust of the government on urban development is a project to be accomplished despite the lean resources of the state and when the project is completed it will offer to the low and medium class income earners.
“Government is ready and has put every machinery in place to make the project a realisable dream, as it willing also to allocate plots to private spirited individuals with the interest of estate development he added,” he said.
Contributing, Arc Shehu Ahmed Tukur, the consultant to the Nasarawa state government on projects development, said the idea was purely to establish residential layout to ensure urban renewal, and commended the governor for resilience and the will to actualise the project.
