Al-Makura, Nasarawa’s best gov – NUJ

Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nasarawa state chapter, has commended Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura for coming to the aid of the union at its “critical time.”
In a letter of appreciation address to the governor, which was signed by the state chairman, Dogo Shammah, the newsmen described Al-Makura as “a lover of the journalism profession and the practitioners in the state.”
“The singular gesture by you will no doubt go into the history of NUJ as the best governor we ever had,” the letter read in part.

The chairman explained that the gesture extended to the union had proved that the governor “is a people’s leader,” stressing that “your past and most recent benevolent gesture of coming to our aid through various largesse has proved that you are indeed a People’s Governor.”

“The union promises to ensure objective reportage and stand by the administration of Umaru Tanko Al- Makura to better the lives of the indigenes.
“We, therefore, reiterate our commitment to always be truthful in our reportage and as well stand by you in your quest to better the lives of indigenes of Nasarawa state.”
