Deliberations on where and how to treat the outcome of the on-going national conference took centre stage at the plenary yesterday with some delegates advocating that the reports should be taken to referendum while others believed it is not be the duty of conference to decide that.
The conference began deliberations on modalities for the implementation of the decisions of the conference with a divided house.

While making his contribution to the matter, Sen. Musa Adede representing South-South said there are issues and items that bother on policy which President Jonathan should begin to implement immediately, adding the President should liaise with the National Assembly the recommendations that bother on constitutional matters to make the necessary change.

A delegate, Adekanbi Ayodele representing persons with disabilities said the Confab was put in place to dialogue and find solutions to Nigeria’s problems, adding that the confab would be a waste of time if the outcome is not taken to Nigerians through a referendum.
He said if the report is taken to the National Assembly, “they may remove certain aspects that affect them or governors who often control National Assembly members.”

Mrs. Olusola Obada said all matters of policy should be collated and sent to the President, while constitutional matters which are ongoing issue should be forwarded ‎to Nigerians for a referendum.
In the same vein, Mr. Isaac Igbure, was of the view that the a referendum would capture all the outcome of the conference.
He noted that the national conference is bigger than the National Assembly.
