Dep. Speaker to electorate: Track constituency projects

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Sulaimon Lasun Yussuff , has advised the electorate to monitor the execution of constituency projects attracted by their representatives. According to the Deputy Speaker, attracting constituency projects by lawmakers was not a bad idea but advised Nigerians to be concerned on abandonment or non-execution of projects, noting that constituents should engage their representatives on such projects.

Making the observations at the weekend while receiving the award of ‘Doyen of Constituency Projects” from the House of Representatives Press Corps, which honoured him for the large number of projects he has executed since becoming deputy speaker in June 2015, Lasun said; “What I always tell people is that constituency projects are not bad in itself; but our constituents have to monitor every project that is allocated to their constituency and engage their representatives to ensure that such projects are duly executed.

“I will therefore advise all Nigerians to monitor their lawmakers and the projects earmarked for their areas; and by so doing, they will be able to ascertain what their elected representatives have attracted and are bringing to them.”
