The Edo State House of Assembly has postponed indefinitely, its resumption of Plenary earlier scheduled for yesterday May 22, 2017 over  “faulty power generator”.
This was just as the Department of State Security  (DSS) on Monday drafted its personnel to the assembly complex to forestall possible breakdown of law over alleged impeachment  of Speaker Justin Okonoboh.
The House plenary postponement was contained in a statement issued by the Clerk Mr. James Omoataman.
The assembly had embarked on recess on April 5, 2017.
Omoataman explained that the postponement was due to the ongoing renovation of the hollow chamber.

While advising the legislators and the general public to take note of the development, the Clerk said a new resumption date would be communicated.
However, Speaker Justin Okonoboh  who earlier  inspected the ongoing renovation of  the  chamber  said:  ‘’as at today all the public address system are not functioning… we need to put the generator in order.”
On the rumor that the House is divided, the speaker said:  ‘’No house is complete anywhere in the world.
‘’We are 24 members from different constituencies; we cannot all speak with one voice. We all have our different opinions and views,’’ he stated.
