Exercise Cat Race: Community donates items to army

As part of his appreciation to the efforts of troops in curtailing insecurity in his area, the Zaki of Chembe village has donated 146 tubers of yam, two chuicken and 40 liters of premium spirit (petrol) to the Headquarters 72 Special Forces Battalion in Logo Local Government Area of Benue state. The Director Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Texas Chukwu said this in a statement. He said the Zaki while presenting the items thanked the troops for their “professionalism and courage in the discharge of their duties.”
“He remarked that even prior to the official flag off of the operations and ever since, the troops have remained at their various duty posts, providing an enabling environment for them to go about their farming and other activities,” Chukwu said.
He said the Zaki said he was giving the items as “donation and not a payment or compensation” to the troops as appreciation of the sacrifi ce of troops. “He thanked the troops for their prompt response to distress calls even at odd hours and urged them to sustain the tempo,” Chukwu said.
