Ezeji elated by honour from former team Club Africain

Victor Ezeji has disclosed that he was delighted to be honoured by his former Tunisian team Club Africain. Before the kick-off of the 2017 CAF Confederation Cup Group A match between Club Africain and Nigeria’s Rivers United on Sunday at the Stade Olympique Rades, the club presented the Super Eagles-capped Ezeji with a bouquet. Th ey also presented him with the club’s jersey as the crowd sang his praises. Th e club displayed their love and fond memories of the left-footed scorer for his contributions to their trophy success during his time with them in 2007 and 2008 seasons when they ended their 12-yeartrophyless campaign. A delighted Ezeji said he was pleased to be so honoured by his former club. “I’m happy, it shows they still recognise and appreciate my contribution to the club when I was there”, Ezeji told SCORENigeria Ezeji said before the match it was an emotional “home return” for him as he accompanied his former Nigerian club, Rivers United, to their CAF Confederation Cup tie against his fi rst club outside his country of birth, Nigeria. However, Club Africain won the game 3-1.
