A masquerade and three persons have been killed in Okene local government area of Kogi state by yet-to-be identified gunmen.
It was reliably gathered that the killing occurred at Idare Street in Okene town.
According to an eyewitness, the masquerade and three of his followers were gunned down by two men on motorcycles during an Eche-Anee festival which is celebrated annually by the people of Kogi Central.
The source further disclosed that immediately the masquerade and some of his followers were gunned down other people at the scene took to their heels.
Meanwhile, the Administrator of Okene local government area, Abdulrazak Mohammed, has announced the ban and immediate stoppage of the festival in order to forestall further destruction of lives and property.
