How APC is rekindling Nigerians’ hope

I am not a card carrying member of any political party in Nigeria and I do not hope to be one, considering the immense pressure on me since 1999 to date from my people, who are urging me to join the risky game.
But one good thing about people like us that share the same thought is that we are always ready to support whoever we believe will bring true transformation to the masses no matter to what party he belongs. We believe every worthy candidate must enjoy our support including those of our families, irrespective of whether he knows us or not. This will show that we are not against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) even though most Nigerians are against the party’s plan to rule Nigeria for 60 years with the current system of its leadership which now spotlights criminals seeking asylum and opportunists.

Our simple reasons are known and clear – poverty, unemployment, corruption, looting and insecurity, which is high that today nobody is safe, except a privileged few who are attached with security details.
Considering the attitude and how PDP rules Nigeria, many people in and outside Nigeria will agree with me that PDP has no humanity. Two hundred innocent children were abducted and another bomb blast that cost the lives of hundreds within the same week but PDP went ahead to go to Kano and celebrate Malam Ibrahim Shekarau’s decamping. This action is still very fresh in everyone’s memory because to date those children are still missing, which is being condemned all over the world.

On the other hand, they were able to postpone a programme when one of them lost a brother who lost his life in a ghastly motor accident not minding the thousands of people that lost their lives (not in a civil war) but in this fake democracy.
A personal research I conducted recently shows that out of every 10 members of the PDP spoken to off record, 8 persons confessed to joining the party for negative reasons. Majority of the reasons are either protection or fear of poverty some even told worse stories that will make you shed tears. What kind democracy are we then practicing?
When PDP realized that the APC is a welcome relief to Nigerians, they systematically penetrated the party’s rank and file to destroy it by all means even from its publicity secretary’s stunts. This gimmick made more people to understand the PDP better and hate it more instead of favouring it.

Surely, if PDP continues to rule for the next 60 years then we shall expect the population of Nigerian to decline swiftly to what is obtainable in a state at present. Who can really support this?
With the coming of the APC, a greater part of Nigerians are happy because majority of the governors that are in the party are among the best governors in Nigeria (excluding Baba Mai Mangoro). So, apart from the hope of security, employment, poverty alleviation and end to university and doctors strike. It is first in history of Nigeria where police attempted to go on strike and the recent case of rebellion and mutiny in the military.

But while all eyes and hopes are relocated to APC my Oga, colleague and friend Mr Sam Nda Isaiah, the Group Chairman of Leadership Group and the Governor of Kano state, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, have indicated interest towards presidential aspiration. Since Mr. Isaiah is like a son and Kwankwaso a political brother to General Muhammadu Buhari, many people are surprised and think negatively. Even when Kwankwaso was in PDP a lot of people know that there was a good relationship between him and Buhari.
Also, Kwankwaso stated clearly during the 2011 election that whoever supported Buhari in Kano wholehearted should support him although they have their candidate because of his personal relationship with Buhari as well as his similar interest towards Nigeria’s development. That is why most of us weren’t surprised when Kwankwaso decamped to APC, especially that Buhari was the leader of the delegation.

The presidential ambition of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and decamping of Malam Nuhu Ribadu to PDP (who lost 70% of his fans) placed every Nigerian that hoped for change into confusion plus clashes of supporters.
But our current investigation on why Kwankwaso decided to join the presidential project and the recent interview with Atiku Abubakar with BBC Hausa and some classified information from Buhari Camp has revived Nigerians hope that what they are planning if really they are doing it from the bottom of their heart is in our best interest. At least PDP will understand why Nigerians are tired. Let criminal looks for where to hide in the jungle between lion, crocodile and tigers’ camp.
