Zamfara state governor, Alh. Abdulaziz Yari, said he would rather  resign as governor of the state than tell lies to the people about his administration’s policies and programmes.
Yari  made the pronouncement yesterday at the formal handing over of relief items donated to victims of armed banditry and cattle rustling attacks by the federal government through its National Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Person, while reacting over N13 billion security vote which he claimed his government spent on armed banditry and cattle rustling that claimed hundreds of innocent people in the state from 2011 to date.

According to him, those who are criticising him on the matter are doing so based on their selfish interest not for the development of the state.
Yari described those who criticising him as politically motivated.
He also called on critics of his style of leadership to desist from their act and always make constructive criticisms that will help his administration move the state toward.
