All Progressives Congress (APC) Kwara state chapter, has condemned the statement credited to his Lagos counterpart, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, calling for sanction on Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara over their actions described as ‘treacherous’.

Sulyman Buhari, the Publicity Secretary of Kwara APC, in a statement issued at the weekend, asked the Lagos APC to “re-orientate” Igbokwe on his responsibilities in order to halt further embarrassment that his divisive commentary magnets to Lagos APC.
Buhari stated: “This caution is unavoidable to arrest the dangerous trend whereby a spokesman continues to cause damage to the image of the same party he was elected to protect and promote.”

Igbokwe had condemned the election of Bukola Saraki as Senate President and Yakubu Dogara as House of Representatives Speaker, describing the actions of both men as “treacherous” and asking the APC to sanction them.

“Following the ‘controversial’ emergence of Sen. Saraki and Dogara on June 9, against the interests of the party which had earlier supported Ahmad Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila for Senate President and Speaker respectively, after a mock election conducted within the party, the lingering intra-party crisis had continued to take different dimensions .

The APC crisis got worsened when Saraki and Dogara rejected persons nominated by the APC to emerge Senate and House majority leaders as well as other leadership positions reserved for the majority party.
