NASCO partners amateur cyclist on awareness campaign

The NASCO group of Companies have assured youths and government of Plateau State their readiness to continue to support and sponsored sporting events in the State, just as they carried out awareness campaign on cycling. The Company’s customer relations officer, Mr. Steve Adetoro, gave the assurance at the end of a one day, NASCO/ Plateau amateur cycling association awareness campaign in Jos.
“In NASCO, is not just about produced and sale, the philosophy is about what brings life to the People,” Adetoro said. “We don’t see cycling as a sport but we see it as a form of lives, which is why we are partnering with the State amateur cycling association.” He said NASCO is interested in supporting youths engagement into sporting events, “we are into Polo, Takondoe and now cycling.
” The State Commissioner of Sports and Youths development, Hon. Victor Laper, said Government will continue to support multinational companies that willing to sponsor any sporting event.
“NASCO group of companies are pace setters in supporting sporting activities in the State and I am calling on all multinational companies in the State to also emulate it,” he added. Chairman of the state amateur cycling association, Mr. James Amidu, said the awareness campaign was not only aim at promoting competition in cycling, but to take it to the grassroots level.
“It is to make People imbibe the sporting habit of cycling so that they will improve their health status,” he added. Amidu further appreciated NASCO for its full sponsorship of the cycling awareness events, as well as provisions of T-shirts, and awards to first five amateur cyclists that had participated.
