New Zaria Depot commandant assumes duty

The new commandant, Depot, Nigeria Army, Zaria, Brig.-Gen. Victor Ezugwu, assumed duties yesterday.
Our correspondent reports that the commandant, until his posting to the institution, was the acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Maiduguri.
Addressing troops during handing and taking over ceremony held at the formation’s Parade ground commended the former Commandant, Brigadier General Christopher Gwabin Musa Musa is deployed to  Army Headquarters who he described hardworking and senior gallant officer.
Ezugwu said the former had performed wonderfully and brought about a lot of transformation in the institution.
The commandant explained that his predecessor “has done everything for me,” adding what was left “for me is little and I will continue from where he stopped.”
However, the new commandant warned officers and soldiers not to relent in their efforts to take the institution to greater heights.
Ezugwu promised to move the formation to another level with full support of both the officers and the soldiers.
Earlier, the former Commandant called on all in the formation to support the new commandant.
He described him as “a veteran army officer and a very gallant,” saying that he was the one that defeated Boko Haram in the North-east as GOC 7 Division, Maiduguri.
