The Chris Ngige-led peace committee set up by the national leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to reconcile the Bauchi state Governor Mohammed Abubakar, Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and other members of the National Assembly (NASS) from Bauchi state, has visited the state for the assignment.

The committee chaired by Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment, is to intervene into the crisis with a view to resolving it amicably.
The committee which has the former governor of Kaduna state, Lawal Jafar Isa and the ex- Head of Civil Service of the federation, Gambo Magaji, among others, yesterday, began its fact- finding on the  remote cause of the conflicts between the state chief executive and the federal law makers, so that the party might take the right action.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to the state Governor Mohammed Abubakar at the Government House, Bauchi, Ngige explained that the committee had met with the NASS’ members where it took their grievances with the governor, adding that they came to the state to meet party leaders and stake holders to discuss on the matter and submit report and recommendations to national headquarters.
The minister who promised to give all the warring parties fair hearing expressed optimism that the crisis could be settled within the shortest possible time.
‘’ We have started sitting with the National Assembly Members led by the Speaker House of Representatives, Dogara and some senators like Senators Nazif and Wakili and the House of Reps members. We sat with them in Abuja and the governor. But we are here to see facts for ourselves’’. He noted.

In his response, Governor Abubakar commended the party for setting up the reconciliation committee assuring them of his readiness to cooperate with members so that they would discharge their assignment successfully.
He also charged the committee to tour all the local governments areas of the state to inspect the ongoing projects embarked upon by his administration in order to ‘ dispel the accusations by the legislators that they were at logger head with him due to poor performance’.
