Plateau commissioner slumps, dies

  Gov declares 3-day mourning

Plateau state Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Arc Samuel Arum Galadima, yesterday slumped and died in Jos, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hon. Rufus Bature, has said.
Governor Simong Lalong has also declared three-day mourning effective from yesterday.
The SGS said in a press release that the deceased died after he had slumped while, participating in the State Executive Council members, regular forth-nightly physical exercise at the Jos Township stadium.
“When he slumped, he was rushed to the Plateau state Specialist Hospital where he was confirmed dead,” the release read in parts.

“The executive governor of Plateau state, Simon Bako Lalong on behalf of the government of Plateau state is with sincere sense of loss deeply grieved to announce the sudden demise of the Hon. Commissioner of Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Arc Samuel Arum Galadima who passed on to glory early Wednesday, 22nd March, 2016 at the age of fifty eight (58).”
Acording to the release, the governor had, as a result of this tragic loss, declared three days of mourning beginning from today, Wednesday, the 22nd to Friday the 24th of March 2017. The governor also suspended all his public functions in keeping with the mourning mood of the state.
