Proprietor urges govt to assist private schools

Chairman of Glory and Praise International College, Kuje, Dr Michael Oladeji, has called for government’s attention in private schools across the country.
He made the call during the 9th graduation/prize giving day of his school in Kuje.
Oladeji said it would be good for government to assist private schools in order to move education in the country forward, adding that “for a school to be impact qualitative knowledge into the children, facilities such as laboratory equipment, a well-equipped library and other amenities that make learning conducive are expected to be there.”

He, however, admitted that “it is the responsibility for any private school owner to provide the above mentioned facilities since he/she makes profit from the school.”
He commended the Federal Ministry of Education for “a well-articulated plan for education in Nigeria,” and, therefore, urged the Minister of Education to “use his good offices to ensure that the action plan is well implemented.”

In his welcome remarks, the chairman of the occasion, the Controller-General, Nigeria Prisons Service, Mr. Oluwayiopese Benson, represented by the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Chairman, Barr. Oluwa-segun, gave kudos to Oladeji for providing qualitative education in Kuje.
Also speaking, the proprietress of the College, Mrs. Temilola Funke Oladeji, said the school had qualified teaching staff, as well as motivation of her workers, to meet with qualitative education.

The Guest Speaker, the education officer, zonal education office, Kuje, Hajia Arowolo Arinola, said to “examine the importance of physical education without its concept is like putting the cart before the horse.”
According to her, “the father of physical education is an important and vital part of the education process, that helps in the all round development of individual involved.”
The Senior Supervisor/grandaunt of the college, Ibrahim Khadijat Oiza, thanked the school authorities, teaching and non-teaching staff and the students for giving her the opportunity to lead and gain a lot from leadership pedestal.
She encouraged the present senior supervisor to “keep the flag flying, so that we can turn back to behold the institution in the highest pinnacle of academic excellence.
