Umahi sacks 576 aides, dissolves LG caretaker

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state, has sacked the 64 coordinators and 512 management committee members of the 64 Development Centres appointed at the inception of his administration.
He also dissolved the caretaker committee chairmen of all the 13 local government areas of the state.

Umahi who made the announcement at the Abakaliki township stadium during the democracy day celebration, said the dissolution of the caretaker chairmen was  necessary  to pave way for the swearing-in of the newly elected council chairmen in the April 22, council polls.
The governor said the dissolved Development Centres would be reconstituted in the months ahead.

He also announced the appointment of 46 Technical Assistants (TAs) ,11 Senior Assistants(SAs)  five Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), and 7 Board members of Ebonyi Fertilizers Blending Plants.
The newly elected LG chairmen as well as other new appointees were sworn-in at the venue of the celebration by the governor. And also directed that the  171 ward councilors must be sworn-in tomorrow(Tuesday).
Umahi charged the appointees  to key into the government policies and programs as it was no longer as usual.

The governor noted that apart from the numerous achievements of his administration which were visible all over the state, he was planning massive industrialization of the state in the months ahead.
He added that as part of his covenant with God, his administration has budgeted N3bn for the construction of Ecuminical centre, where every Ebonyians would always run to God in prayers, in times of need.
