At Easter, Police assures of adequate security in Abuja, dedicates 24-hour help lines


The Commissioner of Police in charge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), CP Bala Ciroma, has reassured residents of the territory that the command has deployed adequate security measures to guarantee a hitch free Easter feast celebration in FCT.

A press state by the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Danjuma Gajere Tanimu, in Abuja, said the command has commenced massive deployment of plain-cloth and uniformed Police operatives across churches, shopping malls, gardens, motor parks, and other areas that have been identified to be beehive of activities during the festivities.

He said the command has taken proactive measures, through the recently launched Operation Puff Adder, to combat crimes in all the area councils, along all streets, major roads across the FCT connecting to other states.

The spokesperson further stated that the Police boss has directed all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPO) to provide water-tight security at all Churches and recreational centres located within their respective areas of responsibility.

While felicitating with all Christian faithful as they commemorate the Easter, the CP enjoined residents to be security conscious and continue to partner with the command through the provision of timely information on suspicious and strange persons hibernating around them.
