Buhari’s re- election: APC stages victory rally in A/Ibom

Despite losing all elective positions in the just concluded National Assembly in the state, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Akwa Ibom state chapter Wednesday walked the major streets in Uyo the state capital, in  celebration of  the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari for second term.

The governorship candidate of the APC, Mr Nsima Ekere who spoke at the rally said, “We are rejoicing and jubilating because we are in the next level with the re-election of President Buhari. What Nigerians are saying is, you have done well.”

Ekere said the re-election of Buhari means he has done well in terms of road construction, fight against corruption; bringing the economy out of recession, transparency and selflessness in governance.

He said that the votes of APC members during the presidential and National Assembly election in the state were not counted adding that  President Buhari and the vice president assured him that “the Egyptian you see today, you will see them no more.”

Ekere urged the members of APC to be vigilant adding that the PDP engaged in vote buying in the presidential and National Assembly elections to gain victory in the state.

He said Akwa Ibom state must be linked to the government at the centre.

He said, “We shall reclaim the entire stolen mandate from the PDP. We shall get redress. Those who conspire to steal APC mandate will cry.

“Yesterday I received a call from the Vice President, Professor  Yemi Oshibajo  saying  that he is aware of the situation in Akwa Ibom and that the result of the election is not the true reflection of what happened in Akwa Ibom during the Saturday poll.

“Everywhere we went, it was obvious that the people wanted change  and we’re determined to ensure that their vote count. But the level of vote buying  by the PDP truncate this desire.

“So, we should now be very vigilant in the coming governorship election. Refuse to sell your vote.”
