PDP alleges APC plans to manipulate Nasarawa election results

The Nasarawa state Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Francis
Orogu, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)
government in the state of operating a command centre at the
Government House to manipulate the result of elections in the state.

He made the accusation at a press conference yesterday in Lafia where
he said the party had already informed the Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agents to investigate the
matter in order to have free, fair, transparent and credible
elections.
Orogu said the party is aware that the “so-called” command centre is
being handled by one Hamza Elayo and it  would be used to ensure that
already thumb- printed ballot papers scale through during elections.

The PDP chairman further accused APC of recruiting unemployed youths
to destabilise the voting process during the elections adding ,” There
are two chairmen, Doma and Obi local government area who were used to
recruit this unemployed youths to disrupt the forthcoming elections.”

While commenting INEC for rejecting the stage- managed protest
embarked upon by the youth, he also urge them to ensure free, fair and
credible elections in the state.

Orogu urged the electorates to vote out Governor Umaru Almakura,
insisting that he lacks legislative qualities to represent Alago
ethnic Nationality and other people of the southern zone at the red
chamber.

He warned the people of the senatorial district not to waste their
vote by voting Almakura in the Saturday 23rd presidential and National
Assembly elections.

” I told my people that Almakura is not a legislative material and
they should not waste their vote on him because if he is elected as
senator , people of my constituency will regret it, and I repeat
Almakura is not a legislative  material,” Orogu insists.
