Provost urges Bauchi govt to privide funds for early education


Provost of Tafawa Balewa College Of Education (COE), Kangere, Dr Adamu Magaji Yanbuga has called on Bauchi state government to provide funds to run Primary Education Studies (PES) and Early Childcare Education (ECE) programme.

He made the call when he paid a courtesy visit to the chairman of Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (BASUBEB), Professor Yahaya Ibrahim Yero.

He said even though the college had introduced the courses, it lacked the basic equipments to teach them.

Dr Yunbunga said that the college was the only one running the courses in the northeastern region, adding that the provost college also required N87‎m to pay for compensation for acquired land.

In his repsponce, BASUBEB chairman said the programmes would enhance teacher quality and teaching learning experiences.

He stated that over 80 per cent of teachers under the board in the 20 local government areas were expected to study the courses.
