Strange! Dead man, others bag Fidelity Bank’s multi-million-naira cash rewards


In continuation of its loyalty reward scheme for customers in the South East geopolitical zone, Fidelity Bank has rewarded 5 of its customers including a late businessman in Ochanja Market, Onitsha, Anambra State, Mr Thomas Sunday Onyebu.

Onyebu, who died on November 2018 was rewarded with N500, 000 for his savings account with the bank before death, through his next of kin and 10-year-old son, master Kenneth Onyebu flanked by his mother, Mrs Azuka.

Other beneficiaries of the ongoing Fidelity Personal Savings Scheme (FPSS) and SWEETA account holders rewards were Miss Mary-Jane Ogochukwu (N150, 000), Mr Christopher Nwoye (N500, 000), Udegboka O., Akpaka O. & Akoma A. (N500, 000), and Urban Bus Drivers Welfare Association (N500, 000).

Presenting the bank checks, the Fidelity Bank Regional Head, Mr. Henry Asiegbu, stated that the loyalty scheme was unique and peculiar way the bank was sharing its profit with the customers for their commitment, tenacity and loyalty.

According to Asiegbu, 6000 beneficiaries have been rewarded with over N2.61 billion since the scheme commenced four years ago.

On his part, the Fidelity Bank Branch manager in Ochanja, Mr Emeka Ibe, urged customers to open savings account or sweeta account (for school children) with the bank with at least N20, 000 to be qualified for a reward.  

In their separate speeches, Mrs Azuka Onyebu, wife of late Sunday Onyebu, and Miss Mary-Jane Ogochukwu, whose mother opened a Sweeta account for when she was 10-years-old, thanked the bank for the rewards, and enjoined people to patronise Fidelity Bank for their banking transactions.
