…Be resilient, Rep tells FCT residents

The House of Representatives candidate for AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituents on the ticket of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Micah Jiba has called on residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to be resilient and not be discouraged over the postponement of the election.

Jiba who spoke to Blueprint  Saturday  in Abuja immediately  the INEC postponed the election, expressed disappointment that the election was postponed on the day it was supposed to hold, without consultation  with stakeholder who invested time and resources towards the election. 

Jiba said his supporters should understand that it is God that gives power  and despite delay, all his supporters should keep faith and be ready to vote for the candidates of their choice on Saturday 23rd February without fear of intimidation or discouragement.

He further expressed confidence that despite the postponement, he will be victorious next Saturday because all things work together for those people that loves God.  He said the God he serves will not deny him of victory.

“That is why I am calling on all residents of the FCT, most especially, those in AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency not to be discouraged or intimidated.

He said: “They should be patient and law abiding, because Saturday is just around the corner, for them to cast their votes. It was rather unfortunate to wake up on Saturday morning with the hope of going to vote but heard the news of election postponement. It was sad and worrisome, but we shall continue to keep faith and be firm in our struggle, disappointment is associated to human existence.

” I understand how regrettable it will be to the electorate who are the key stakeholders in this election. Nevertheless, I urge all of them to remain calm and resolute in their decision which they have made to stand by me. The election has just been postponed by one week, to be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

“I admonished all my teaming supporters not to lose faith in our electoral institution, because they are made up of men of integrity. I and my campaign organisation apologize for every inconvenience on behalf of INEC that the decision may caused individuals and corporate bodies,” he said.
