Accept Kano result in good faith, Kwanwkaso tells supporters


Former Kano state Governor and a chieftain of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has called on his supporters to accept the presidential and National Assembly election results released by INEC.   

The result so far shows that APC presidential candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari scored 1,464,768 while Atiku Abubakar of PDP got 391,573, APC. By this result, he  defeated PDP presidential candidate with a staggering margin of 1,073,195.

Senator Kwankwaso who is the leader of PDP Kwankwasiyya movement and who during the presidential campaign pull unprecedented crowd for Atiku of PDP, in a statement yesterday in Kano called on all his supporters to remember that the governorship elections will come up in the next two weeks. As such, they should continue campaigning so that their governorship candidate, Abba K. Yusuf wins the election.

Our correspondent spoke to some of those close to the former governor on how Kwankwaso by the sitting governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and most of them are of the view that it was Kwankwaso who refuse to allow PDP to have free and fair primaries, and because he anointed his own candidates against all odd, what happened was a protest vote by those close to him.

At the time of filing this report, there was jubilation in Kano Government House as it is clear that the incumbent Governor Ganduje will likely win with landslide on 9th March, 2019.  All the three  APC Senators, Architect Kabiru Gaya, Jibril Maliya, and Mallam Ibrahim Sekarau are going to the senate for the first time.
