APC lost Reps seat for arrogance- lawmaker

A member representing Yola North/Yola South/Gerei federal constituency of Adamawa state Barrister Lawal Garba has said the court decision that nullified the election of Abdulrauf Maddibo of the APC was largely due to the party’s arrogance.

He was reacting to a court verdict, which voided the victory of the APC candidate in the just concluded National Assembly election in favour of the PDP candidate, Sulaiman Ribadau.

He explained that the verdict would serve as a deterrent and a lesson to his party to abide with their guidelines and constitution whenever they are conducting any primaries in the future.

He blamed the crisis of the party on the leadership of state chapter of the party that forwarded the name of Abdulrauf to the party national headquarters for onward submission to INEC as its candidate despite the fact that the election was inconclusive.

He advised political parties to always abide by the party rules and constitution noting that the judiciary has done its part.
