APC, PDP: Choice between corruption, mediocrity – Dara

Presidential Candidate of Alliance of Social Democrats (ASD), Mr John Dara has urged Nigerians to use the opportunity of the New Year to cast off the yoke of mediocrity, lawlessness and oppression.

Dara stated that the choice between APC and PDP is a choice between unhealthy mediocrity and corrupt mediocrity. We don’t have to remain ‘mumu’, we must reject these two.

According to the Director Communications, Dara Campaign Organisation, Hon. Jeffrey Abidoye Dara Presidential Organisation, in a new year message to Nigerians, 2019 is the year to give Nigeria a new era of good governance, security and rapid development.

The Presidential Organisation, however, regretted that Nigerians have a penchant for wasting and missing opportunities appealing to the citizens to make the forthcoming election different.

He said Nigeria needs a spontaneous revolutionary mass action like the “Arab Spring”, urging the electorate to mobilize and use their votes to overthrow the existing order.

According to the statement, the suppressors are not the problems; but the citizens, the elites and their media, who submit themselves, rationalize and cooperate with the existing order.

The statement read: “We wish all Nigerians a harmonious, peaceful, prosperous and happy new year. The year 2019 is a year of great opportunities for our nation.

“This is the year to cast off the yoke of mediocrity, lawlessness and oppression. This is the year to give Nigeria a new era of good governance, security and rapid development.

“Unfortunately, we have a penchant for wasting and missing our opportunities. This must be different. Nigeria needs a spontaneous revolutionary mass action like the “Arab Spring”. Nigerians must mobilize and use their votes to overthrow the existing order.

“The suppressors are not the problems; the citizens, the elites and their media, who submit themselves, rationalize and cooperate with the existing order are the problems.

“We are not helpless; you are the real problem of Nigeria if you neglect to act and contribute to the much needed revolutionary change in this nation. There is enough time before the Elections to mobilize, organize and orchestrate the necessary changes.

“Stop deceiving yourself and your compatriots, a vote for Buhari or Atiku is an endorsement of the existing order of rot, chaos, deceit and the consequential spread of poverty and sorrow.

“The choice between APC and PDP is a choice between unhealthy mediocrity and corrupt mediocrity. We don’t have to remain ‘mumu’, we must reject these two.

“We need new thinking and new leaders to get new salutary results. Our choice of the President to lead the required revolutionary efforts to rebuild Nigeria is very critical. We need a compromise and consensus Candidate.

“We need a capable and articulate leader with the courage to take difficult decisions, and the political acumen to practically  carry  along all interest groups and sections of the country.

“We need a leader with the integrity and credibility to inspire confidence at home and abroad. It has to be a leader uniquely positioned to build bridges across the regions, religions, tribes, ages, gender and social classes.

“The strength of the political party platform is of little relevance, ‘independent’ candidates do get elected in critical situations, especially when serious voters find major party candidates odious and unacceptable (as in our present predicament).

“We recommend Mr. John Dara from Kwara State (North Central), the Presidential Candidate of the Alliance of Social Democrats (ASD) and his Running Mate, Alh. Salisu Abubakar from Edo State (South South) as the consensus candidates to lead this revolution.

“Together, they will unite Nigeria; reform the polity and the economy; restore peace, orderliness and security in Nigeria, and accelerate the pace of development to make Nigeria the most improved nation in the world within a short period.”
