Bindow messed up Adamawa- Marwa

*No we’ve done our best – Babale

The internal wrangling within the Adamawa state chapter of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) may have degenerated further following fierce exchanged of words between party chieftains at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Yola venue of the Adamawa stakeholders’ town hall meeting on Sunday.

First to fire the salvo was the former military administrator of Lagos and Borno states, respectively retired Gen Buba Marwa, who torn at the presentation made by the secretary to the state government( SSG) Engr.Umar Bindir describing it as a confirmation of the thinking of most people that the outgoing administration of Governor Bindow Jibrilla messed up the state.

“Adamawa is in a complete mess. I didn’t say it the SSG said it and you have all heard him,” he said turning to the audience.

“The administration did almost nothing to improve the infrastructural development of the state, instead embarked on projects that did not have direct impact on the lives of the people and in fact was generally directionless.”

But the Deputy Governor Martin Babale, dismissed Marwa’s claim stating that the administration of Governor Bindow has done remarkably well.

“In the last four years, there has been a deliberate focus on infrastructural development that has given the state a lift.  We have done our best, recorded lots of achievements in the areas of security, physical infrastructures, education, health among others”.

He said the town hall was meant to present some reasonable scorecard of the administration as well as create avenue for the people to forge ahead and plan for a better future for the state.

While thanking the people for cooperating with the administration to make the modest achievements, he urged the incoming administration to build the success already attained and to focus on an agenda that would further sustained the development of the state.

Also, Marwa has urged the incoming administration of governor-elect Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to learn from the mistakes of the ousted administration by carrying the people state along in its programmes and policies.

He equally appealed to him to give priority to the pressing needs of the state especially those areas enumerated in the various presentations.

Marwa also tasked the administration to support security agencies with all the necessary assistance they would required to tackle the security challenges in the state.
