Buhari appoints chairman, 29 commissioners for revenue mobilisation commission

In accordance with the provision of Section 154(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), 

President Muhammadu Buhari has forwarded to the Senate for confirmation, the name of Mr Elias Mbam as chairman of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC). 

The president also sent names of 29 other nominees selected from states across the country to serve as commissioners in the commission, his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu, said in a statement in Abuja on Friday.

The commissioners are Mr Chris Alozie Akomas (Abia state), Mr Ayang Sunday Okon (Akwa Ibom state), Mr Chima Philip Okafor (Anambra state), Mr Isa B. Mohammed (Bauchi state), Mr Samuel Adaa Maagbe (Benue state), Ntufam Eyo Nsa Whiley (Cross River state), Mr Andrew Ogheneovo Agbaga (Delta state), Mr Patrick Nworu Mgbebu (Ebonyi state) and Mr Victor Eboigbe (Edo state).

Others are Amujo Philip Ajayi (Ekiti state), Mrs Maria Chinyere Aniobi (Enugu state), Mr Musa Tanko Abari (FCT), Mr Mohammed Kabeer Usman (Gombe state), Alhaji Ahmed Mahmoud Gumel (Jigawa state), Alhaji Kabir Muhammad Mashi (Katsina state), Mr Umar Farouk Abdullahi (Kano state), Mr Rilwan Hussein Abarshi (Kebbi state), and Mr Suleiman Kokori Abdul (Kogi state). 

Other commissioners are Mr Abdullahi Shuaibu Yaman (Kwara state), Dr Wright Olusegun Adekunle (Lagos state), Mr Aliyu A. Abdulkadir (Nasarawa state), Mr Ibrahim Bako Bagudu Shettima (Niger state), Mr Fari Adebayo (Ogun state), Mr Tokunbo Ajasin (Ondo state), Mr Kolade Daniel Abimbola (Oyo state), Mr Alexander Shaiyen (Plateau state), Wenah Asondu Temple (Rivers state), Alhaji Modu Aji Juluri (Yobe state), and Abubakar Sadiq A. Gusau (Zamfara state).

The statement said the president asked, in a letter to the Senate President, for expeditious consideration and confirmation of the appointments.
