Ex-Captain of Super Sand Eagles condoles with Agbo’s family

Isiaka Olawale, former Captain of Super Sand Eagles, on Thursday condoled with the family of late Chukwuma Agbo, Assistant Coach of the team, who died after a brief illness.

The death of the assistant coach was announced on Wednesday.

Olawale said in Lagos that the death of Agbo came as a shock to him.

He said that he spoke with the coach five days before his demise.

“I knew he was sick; which was one of the many reasons why I called him. It was just so unfortunate that he died without collecting his dues.

“He was sick; his wife did her best but things went out of control before anything could be done to salvage the situation,’’ the former captain said.

Olawale, however, urged the NFF to endeavour to pay the late coach and other members of the beach soccer squad their dues.

“I believe if my coach had enough funds, he would have gone to the hospital fast enough. We have yet to collect the balance of our dues four years ago for the Nations Cup in Madagascar.

“Even the World Cup. It’s not fair on players and coaches; we put in so much efforts and nothing to show at the end of the day,’’ he said.(NAN)
