FCT NUJ correspondents’ Chapel gets new exco


The Correspondents’ Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, at the weekend elected a new executive to pilot its affairs for the next three years.

Philip Nyam of New Telegraph Newspapers emerged chairman, while Jide Oyekunle of Independent Newspapers, was elected secretary of the chapel for a second term.

Others are: Huram Reuben of Gotel Television; Emmanuel Ehijene of Peoples Television (PTV); and Elizabeth Atime-Chirkpi of OrderPaper Nigeria.

The election was conducted by the Credential Committee constituted by the NUJ FCT Council executive led by Comrade Stella Okoh Esene, Chairperson, Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), FCT Chapter.

Administering the oath of office on the new executive, Chairman, NUJ FCT Council, Comrade Emmanuel Ogbeche, enjoined them to be upright and focused in their task of piloting the affairs of chapel, noting the enormous challenge ahead of them.

Responding on behalf of the newly elected executive, Nyam pledged their commitment to reposition the chapel, even as he assured that all members would be carried along.
