Flying Eagles gets $1,500 for beating Burundi

The national U-20 team, Flying Eagles were each paid $1,500  by the officials of the Nigeria Football Federation after their 2-0 win over Burundi in their opening U-20 AFCON Group A clash at the weekend.

This may well be a massive turnaround by the NFF, who had earlier announced they will not pay match bonuses to any age-group national teams including the Flying Eagles.

The Amaju Melvin Pinnick led NFF board  had complained that lack of funds forced them to adopt this policy against the age-group teams.
