Free Zone scheme: NEPZA vows to secure foreign , local investors


The Nigeria Export Processing Zone Authority (NEPZA) has vowed to secure local and foreign investors operating under the Free Zone Scheme.

The authority, under the leadership of its Acting Managing Director, Engr Terhemba David Nongo, said he will ensure adequate security of their lives and safety of their investments.

Engr Nongo, who was represented by the General Manager, Zones Operations (Public) Dr. Oyesola Oyenle gave the assurance when he led a high-powered delegation to pay a condolence visit to the management of LADOL Free Zone at Tarka Bay, Lagos, SCH-MCI Free Zone Enterprise and the Commandant General NSCDC for the killing of their staff and personnel.

While pledging the agency’s support for full and thorough investigation into the matter, he called for calm to enable the relevant security agencies complete their investigation.

On April 10th, 2019 a Korean National, Mr. Taekun Kang, a Manager with SHI-MCI Free Zone Enterprise and a Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) Personnel , Mr Innocent Oshemuwere allegedly shot to death. 

The NSCDC personnel was on guard-duty in the Free Zone at the time of the incident.
