Ganduje hails Dalung over Dawakin-Kudu stadium


Governor Umar Ganduje of Kano state has commended the Minister of Youth and Sports Barrister Solomon Dalung for completing a mini stadium in Dawakin Kudu local government area of Kano state.

The Governor gave the commendation at the commissioning of the stadium on Monday March 4, 2019.

In his speech, Gov Ganduje said the gesture demonstrated Federal Government’s commitment to youth development in the country.

“First of all we want to thank the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for approving the construction of this ultra modern mini stadium here in Dawakin Kudu local government area of Kano state. Certainly, Kano state being the most populous state in Nigeria has the highest number of youths in Nigeria, therefore, this project has been constructed in a place where it is supposed to be constructed.

“We appreciate the Honorable Minister of Sports and we assure him after the hand over of this  stadium, that the Kano state Sports Council will take very good care of this  facility for the development of sports and our youths here in Kano state. We highly appreciate this donation.”

While commissioning and handing over the mini stadium to the Kano state government, Barrister Dalung advised the state government to ensure the maximum utilization and maintenance of the facility .

“This project is one of Federal government’s policies to address the problem of lack of facilities at the grassroots . Today, we hand over this stadium to the Kano state government for effective management and utilization for the purpose of our people at the grassroots.

“We pray that in the years ahead, we will put more of these facilities at the grassroots so that we can produce the likes of Ahmed Musa, Jay Jay Okocha and a host of great men and women we have in this country.”

In his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Olusade Adesola said that the Mini Sports Stadium was executed by Honourable  Mustapha Bala Dawaki as a Constituency Project of Dawakin

Kudu/Warawa  in   the   Federal   House of Representatives.
