Katsina working with security chiefs to end kidnapping, banditry – Masari

Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina state said he is engaging security chiefs over the reoccurring incidents of kidnapping and banditry in the state.

The governor disclosed this while fielding questions from State House correspondents after a meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

“Part of what we are doing about kidnapping and banditry is that I have seen some security chiefs. Before I leave Abuja, again, I will see the Inspector General of Police and the Director-General of Department of Security Services (DSS) to further discuss and develop on what we are doing with the military and the people that are ground presently.

“It is not only about deployment; it is about strategy,” he said.

The governor attributed his re-election success to the qualities of projects provided to the people of Katsina state under his leadership.

He said that he made some promises to the people of Katsina in 2015, and the people voted him on the basis of those promises and then reelected him in 2019 because of his performance.

“We are happy to say that  we have done more than 70 per cent of what we promised the people of Katsina. When we went round, we promised them that will continue the agenda on education, health, agriculture, infrastructure , security. Because of what we have done in the last four years, they believed us and massively voted for us,’’ he said.
