Minimum wage: What I expect from workers – Buhari


President Muhammadu Buhari said Thursday that the N30,000 new minimum wage should encourage workers at all levels to put in their best in the service of the country and its people. 

He said this after signing into law the new National Minimum Wage Bill as passed by the two chambers of the National Assembly. 

The president said he expects the workers to be more committed and support his administration’s effort to fix the economy as well as build the poor infrastructure he met on ground.

“I expect them (workers) to be more committed to their work at which ever level. I will like with the cooperation of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), to look at the economic situation  of the country, the population, the poor infrastructure that we are trying to
