Otti says Ikpeazu not keen on Abia development

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Abia state governorship candidate for 2019 election, Dr Alex Otti, has blasted Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for lacking dynamics to develop the state.

The APGA candidate, who has challenged the victory of Ikpeazu before the tribunal, said only an individual that has love for the people can bring about impactful development programmes.

However, he said the current PDP government of Ikpeazu does not only lack love for but is incapable of bringing any meaningful development to the people.

He accused the governor of not doing much to bring development to the people that voted him, saying at an event in Arochukwu that it was only love that can move a leader to serve the people selflessly.

He said a situation where government seems to have turned blind eyes to the plight of the people it professed to serve, ran antithetical to the very essence of love.

“I’m often amazed how the governor of a state, like Abia, would go to sleep and be comfortable, knowing full well that thousands of civil servants and pensioners are languishing in penury because of being owed many months arrears of their salaries and pensions by the government.”

He recounted in a statement signed by the director of media and publicity of the Alex Otti Campaign Organisation, Kazie Uko.

Otti called on the people of Abia state to remain united in love and hopeful for a glorious future for the state, irrespective of the present difficulties and challenges that confront them as a result of poor leadership and governance.

“Just like the Lord Jesus conquered death and rose from the dead, Abia State, by the grace of God shall yet arise from this stranglehold of her PDP oppressors”, he said in a statement through the director of media and publicity of the Alex Otti Campaign Organisation, Kazie Uko.

He thanked all Abia people for remaining steadfast and undaunted in their support for him, even as the battle to reclaim the state shifts to the tribunal.

“We are not relenting. The battle to reclaim Abia state is one that must be won and we will, God’s willing. I am glad that I am not alone, but even if it means fighting alone, for the sake of those helpless majority, I will not relent”, Otti vowed.
