The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Zamfara State, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has described the APC-led government in the state as a total failure, stating that the mass killings and kidnappings innocent persons clearly bear this out.
The candidate, therefore, promised to revamp the economy by implementing formidable economic reforms that would make the state self-reliant, if given the mandate.
Bello Matawalle, who promised to turn the state into an Eldorado within months of his administration in view of the abundant resources of the state, also assured that security would top his priority.
The candidate stated this at the inauguration of the Bello Matawalle Campaign organization (BMCO) in Kaura Namoda when he flagged off his governorship campaign, stressing that all the state needs is a person with economic and security foresight to pull Zamfara out of the present mess it is into.
“I will transform the state from total penury to an Eldorado within a few months of my administration and bring a positive change,” he assured.
The governorship candidate described the APC-led government in the state as tired and faltering, saying that Governor Abdulaziz Yari has failed Zamfara citizens that gave him the mandate in the 2011 and 2015 general elections following persistent killings and kidnappings in the state.
“His administration is tired and the state is faltering. The team around him has contributed to his failure and is failing the people as rottenness has set in. It is a high time to make a positive change for the state to join the global village,” he declared.
Matawalle stated that the billions of Naira accruing to the state from the federation account every month have not been matched with any single development, stressing that misappropriation of public funds still eats like a cancer in Zamfara.
“But as a few grow rich, majority see the values of their earnings being declined and eaten away by constant inflation.
“The civil service sector has been paralysed and the future of the civil servants has become very unpredictable and unreliable, public health sector remains in the state of total decay as nothing was moving in the whole state,” he said.
