UEFA Champions League semi-final, 1st leg preview: Can the Reds outgun the Spanish giants?

Liverpool will be aiming to reach a second consecutive Champions League final when they travel to take on Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

The Reds will have it all to do against the Catalans, and with the Premier League title race still being hotly contested, Jurgen Klopp will be hoping his side don’t slip up.

Barca last won the trophy in 2016 and having secured yet another LA Liga title, will now be desperate to break their jinx in Europe.

Ernesto Valverde has a fully fit squad to choose from, while Liverpool are sweating on the fitness of striker Roberto Firmino, as well as midfielders Fabinho and Adam Lallana.

History slightly favors the English side here though.

They have faced off against Barca eight times in their history, winning three and drawing three of their eight games. Barca have won the other two, but the Blaugrana have never knocked the Reds out of a European competition.

It’s undoubtedly the tie of the semi final and it remains to be seen who will come out on top.
