Water facilities: World Bank to spent over N6m in Gombe



Gombe State water corporation would receive a grant of over N6million from the World Bank for the rehabilitation of water facilities across the state.


General Manager of the corporation Isa Muhammad who made this known while speaking with Journalists in Gombe said the grant would be used to carry out  other activities including training of personnel, provision of infrastructure and reform management.


He stated that the upgrade of water facilities across the state had become imperative due to the increase in population resulting to high demand of water.


Muhammad said the corporation was planning to expand the treatment plant from 70, 000 to 85, 000 cubic metre per day to tally with the current population.
