Ten Nigerians who went to Saudi Arabia to perform this year’s Hajj rites have been confirmed dead.
Coordinator of the National Hajj Commission in Mecca, Alhaji Aliyu Tanko, said the 10 were amongst the over 50,000 Nigerians that have so far arrived Mecca with virtually all them having performed the Umrah rites.

He, therefore, advised the pilgrims to always seek medical advice before embarking on pilgrimage, warning them against exposing themselves to the harsh weather conditions in the Holy Land.

The coordinator said the commission’s three clinics in Mecca and those set up by the various state pilgrims boards provide effective medical services to Nigerian pilgrims in Mecca.
