100 days: Kwara APC LG chairmen give AbdulRazaq pass mark

Kwara state All Progressives Congress (APC) local government chairmen have commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his giant strides in key areas that directly touched the lives of the people within the first 100 days of his administration.

The chairmen made the commendation during a meeting with Governor AbdulRazaq in his office Tuesday.

According to the leader of the group, the LG bosses had come show their appreciation to the governor over his performance, saying that AbdulRaza has made them proud in their various communities and local government areas.

The chairmen, who were 14 in number, assured the governor that the APC in their respective local government areas is solidly behind him.

“We are very proud of Your Excellency’s performance in the past 100 days. You have touched very critical sectors of the state. People now have water, roads are being fixed and your style of governance is such that we hadn’t seen for a long time in Kwara.

“We are not unmindful of insinuations in some quarters that the party is not with you. This is not true. The entire leadership of the party, including all of us at the local government areas, are 100 percent loyal to your leadership as Governor and leader of our party,” Adamu Abubakar, leader of the chairmen, said after the meeting.

Corroborating Abubakar’s statement, the Ilorin West APC chairman, Suleiman Tejidini, also said: “Your achievements are very glaring and we can walk in our communities with our heads high.

“We urge you to continue in that path. We are 100 percent behind your administration, especially because the people of the state are very happy with you”.

His counterpart from Isin local government, Dele Ogunbayo, expressed delight that the last 100 days have been very eventful for Kwarans.

“We are having very positive reviews from our people and we are very glad about that. Your steady steps and impact in the past 100 days showed we did not make the wrong choice.

“So, we are happy to identify with you. The party naturally will feel happy to have a representative that makes its job easy. This is what you have done,” he said.

Ogunbayo thanked AbdulRazaq for always willing to talk to everybody especially party leaders and members, urging him to ensure that the soon-to-be-unveiled cabinet is representative of various interests in the state.

Abdullahi Hassan, the APC chairman in Asa local government, said AbdulRazaq’s efforts in the area of health, water, education and civil service have been a clear departure from the past.

“It is our pride that you are succeeding already. Nothing could be better for us. If you fail, people won’t listen to us anymore. So we are very happy that you are doing well in just 100 days.

“We are standing by you at all times. You have shown focus and people can see the difference in terms of the temperament and humble relationship with the masses,” Hassan said.

Responding Governor AbdulRazaq thanked them and assured that he would consult the party at local levels before embarking on projects and policies of governance.

He urged them to always draw his attention to issues at their respective communities since they are closer to the people and promised to roll out impactful projects in the coming months.
