1,000 women, youths benefit from Aisha Bala’s Al-Muhibbah Foundation

Wife of Bauchi state governor, Mrs. Aisha Bala Mohammed has said over 1, 000 women and youths have benefited from her pet project; Al-Muhibbah Foundation since its inception when her husband was the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.

Mrs. Aisha, who spoke with Blueprint during a courtesy call on the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Senator George Akume in Abuja, explained that the Foundation was initially formed with the aim of rehabilitating and beautifying some cemeteries in the FCT, Abuja.

She said Gudu Cemetery, used for Muslims and Christians, was rehabilitated and beautified and now functioning well.

The wife of Bauchi state governor explained that her foundation bought ambulances and distributed to states including Bauchi, Borno, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, and other parts of the country.

Aisha Bala said Al-Muibbah later keyed into orphanage as well as empowered the women and youth across the country in order to stabilise the lives of the less privileged.

In addition, the Foundation enrolled about 1,000 women and youths into various institutes of learning to enable them acquire education, stressing further that the Foundation also bought Hilux vans and distributed to Plateau state and other places across the country for the purpose of facilitating the work of Al- Muhibbah Foundation.

She appealed to parents to send their children/ward to school, advising them not to give them out for marriage at the tender age.

Stating that when you educate a woman, you educate the entire nation, Mrs Bala pointed out that her husband employed a teacher to teach her at home before she proceeded to primary and secondary school after giving birth to five children but now happy to be a university graduate in public administration.

Aisha Bala stated that God has given her the opportunity, zeal and encouragement to do more for the society, her country and the world at large through her humanitarian services.

Senator George Akume while responding, lauded Mrs. Aisha Bala for her initiative and urged her to continue to place women and children at the front burner of her empowerment programmes.
