107 inmates now in Owerri correctional centre – Spokesman

There are 107 out of over 1,800 inmates who were at the Owerri correctional centre before Easter Monday’s unprecedented attack by unknown gunmen.
The Public Relations Officer of the centre, J.C. Madugba, who dropped the hint said 72 escaped inmates eventually returned to join the 35 that did not escape on that day.

He therefore, appealed to other inmates who are yet to return, to so like others, as the federal government’s amnesty would be granted to those who returned voluntarily rather than charging them for escaping.
He also appealed to the general public to contact the authorities of the centre if they sight any of the escaped inmates, as they wouldn’t mind going after them to bring them back.
