10,909 Uniben students take matriculation oath

 

 

Vice Chancellor of University of Benin (Uniben), Prof.
Faraday Orumwense, has disclosed that the school received 34,497 applications for the 2017/2018 academic session.
Orumwense, however, said a total of 10,909 applicants were offered provisional admissions.
The VC stated this during the matriculation ceremony for the successful applicants.
Orumwense, who administered the matriculation oath on the students said “the ceremony is an important tradition in Uniben as it avails you (students) the opportunity to formally pledge allegiance to the University authority.
” According to him, the University of Benin is known for its solid reputation for always being the best at everything.
Both undergraduate and postgraduate runs smoothly, placing the University of Benin on second position in the National Universities Commission accreditation.
In a related development, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Edo University, Iyamho, Prof.
Emmanuel Aluyor, has said that the institution’s standard “will not be compromised for any reason in order.
” Aluyor, who stated this during the orientation of fresh students for the 2017/2018 academic session, added that the school’s projection “is targeted at being a world-class university.
” He enjoined the newly admitted students to be of good behaviour and focus on their primary objectives of being in the university “which is to acquire education knowledge, character development as well as possessing entrepreneurial skills.
” On her part, the Registrar of the university, Dr.
Mrs.
Isoken Ogboro, urged the students to be discipline at all times and shun cultism; as well as other social vices which could lead to expulsion from the school.
