12 govs to grace Daily Assets newspaper presentation in Abuja

Important national political issues touching on governance will be canvassed when 12 governors, who have accepted to attend the public presentation of the nation’s latest tabloid, Daily Assets Newspaper, converge on Abuja on Friday for what organisers hope would be a colourful ceremony.
Publisher of the newspaper, Dr Cletus Akwaya, said Bayelsa state Governor, Chief Henry Seriake Dickson, has accepted to serve as chairman of the ceremony which will coincide with his 50th birthday anniversary.
Blueprint reports that 11 other governors, including Samuel Ortom (Benue); Hassan Ibrahim Dankwambo (Gombe); Umaru Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa); Udom Emmanuel (Akwa-Ibom); Darius D. Ishaku (Taraba); Jibrilla Umaru Bindow (Adamawa); Mohammed Abubakar (Bauchi); Simon Lalong (Plateau); Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna); Ben Ayade (Cross River) and Yahaya Bello(Kogi) will perform different roles, while the wife of the governor of Kebbi state, Dr. Zainab Bagudu, will preside as Mother of the Day.
Other dignitaries expected at the event include, His Royal Highness, Tor Tiv V, Prof James Ayatse, who will be the Royal Father of the Day, while erudite scholar and Dean of Post-Graduate School, Benue state University (BSU), Makurdi, Prof Armstrong Adejo, will be the guest speaker at the event.
Top government functionaries, members of the diplomatic corps, leaders and chieftains of political parties, captains of industry, media executives and other professionals from various backgrounds across the country are also expected to grace the occasion, Akwaya stated.
Editor of the paper, Mr. Danusa Ocholi, also said it had established a strong online presence and attracted huge traffic on its website: www.dailyasset.ng.
“The newspaper has already opened bureaus in six geo-political zones of the country with correspondents in major states of the federation where the print edition is also distributed by vendors and agents,” he said.
