12m nomination forms: APC has lied again – PDP youth leader

Peoples Democratic Party has stated that its guidelines neither demanded N12 million for nomination forms, nor barred aspirants below the age of 40 from vying for elective offices.
The party which accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of propagating such lies added that as a law abiding party it would not contravene relevant sections of the Electoral Act No. 6 2010 (Amendment) Bill 2017, passed into law by the National Assembly.
A statement yesterday by the PDP national youth leader, Hon. Udeh Okoye, noted that his party could not have imposed an age restriction above what is obtained in the not-tooyoung-to-run¬ bill, which has been passed into law.
Okoye reminded the author of the article that “it was PDP, through its honourable representative from Lagos, Hon. Tony Nwolu, that sponsored and pushed vigorously for the passage of the said bill into law.” He also stated that when the bill was being passed into law, no single PDP lawmaker opposed, adding that “all the lawmakers that opposed the bill in the hallowed chambers of the National Assembly were from APC.” The PDP national youth leader, who described the article as “a compilation of falsehood,” recalled that it was PDP administration that appointed “young vibrant ministers like of El Rufai, Ribadu, Soludo, and a host of others when they were still in their prime,” pointing out that “even today, the youngest lawmakers are in PDP.” The statement assured the Nigerian youth that PDP “remains the most viable platform for them to realise their political aspiration.
“Nigerian youth should, therefore, disregard the concoction of lies by APC, and continue to support PDP in its quest to rescue Nigeria from the hands of a political party that has bastardised our nation
