‘150 Corps members in Lagos trained on heart related attacks’



The Lagos State Safety Commission, in collaboration with Joe Nwiloh Heart Foundation and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Lagos state, has organised a one-day “Health and Tafety Training on Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)” for corps members in Lagos, Wednesday.
Corps members were trained on how to handle cardiac arrest, general safety, hazards and accidents.


Also in the training was practical sessions on importance of CPR and how to attend to people who experience cardiac arrest without the kiss of life because of Covid-19.
The corps members, 150 in number,  were decorated as Safety Ambassadors to carry on with the CPR message on heart and lungs.


In attendance were the Commissioner for Special Duties and chairman, NYSC Governing Board, Lagos state; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties and Director-General, Lagos State Safety Commission. Others were Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU); State Coordinator, NYSC; Technical Adviser, directors from the ministry and commission as well as facilitators from Joe Nwiloh Heart Foundation.
