Man arraigned in Osun over attempt to kill his daughter for ritual 

A 38-year-old man, Odesola Odedokun, has been arraigned before the Chief Magistrate Court, Osogbo, Osun State for attempting to kill her daughter, Mary, for money ritual.

The accused was arraigned alongside his friends, Isaac Ajao (40) and Kazeem Ibrahim (42), for conspiracy, unlawful possession of criminal charms, attempt ritual and murder.
The police prosecutor, Mustapha Tajudeen, told the court that the accused persons and others at large, committed the alleged crime on March 7, 2018 at about 07:30hrs at Ifon, Osun State.
The prosecution alleged that the accused persons conspired among themselves to kill one Mary Odedokun with the intention of using her for money ritual.
He said the accused persons have thereby committed an offense contrary to and punishable under section 320 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II Laws if Osun state of Nigeria, 2002.
Counsel to the accused persons, R. A. Ugwu, prayed the court to grant his clients bail in the most liberal term, noting that the accused are still presumed to be innocent by law.
However, the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the allegations slammed against them by the police.
The Magistrate, Mrs Fatimoh Sodamade, granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N500,000 with one surety each in like sum.
She said, each sureties must be civil servants in grade level 15, and must reside within the court jurisdiction after producing evidence of three years tax payments.
The case was thereafter adjourned to April 30, 2018 for hearing.
