Tenure elongation: APC playing politics with Nigerians – ADP

The Action Democratic Party ( ADP ) has said that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was playing politics with the situation Nigerians were going through with the tenure extension of its national executive.

President Muhammadu Buhari at Tuesday National Executive Committee meeting rejected the proposal of the NEC to extend the tenure of its executive by 12 months.
But reacting to the development in a statement signed Wednesday in Abuja, ADP director of publicity Kayode Jacobs unbehalf of the national chairman Engr. Yabagi Sani, said it was sad that President Muhammadu Buhari refused to be firm and straight forward in ordinary party matter.
“With conclusions at APC NEC meeting, President Buhari has clearly shown that he is not in any way in charge of activities in his party, APC,  or he is playing politics with Nigerians and the acclaimed leader of his party Ashiwaju Tinubu who should be hosting him in Lagos in a few days.
“How could Buhari make orders and the governor of Kogi with the APC Publicity Secretary counter at conclusion while they briefed the press,  that what they did earlier was unambiguous.  This is a clear indictment on the competency of Mr. President” Sani said.
The ADP chairman wondered why President Buhari made sudden u-turn. Of course one may be tempted to ask where was President Buhari when the decision was first taken that Oyegun’s tenure should be elongated. Was he not part of the meeting? Why the sudden U -turn? Why did they want to set up committee again to study the President’s proposal?”
